Dialogue of a Weird Ape with a native who has recently learned about the Romantic Wapes

“Romantic Wapes… really really weird, what’s that all about?” The Romantic Wapes, or rWACs, are a new NFTs collection, the result of a consensual agreement between Genesis and Lady Weird Apes, combining them into one of a maximum of 4500 pieces, or the sum of their supplies.

“Wait! What? A new collection? That’s really, really weird…” Well, yes, we know, but you shouldn’t be surprised: we are the Weird Apes Club and we like to experiment. Where we come from weird is beauty, and beauty is good, so weird is good. As they say in the CronosJungle: weirdòs kai kalòs kai agathòs!

“Explain further, you’ve made me curious!” When a Wape decides to become Romantic he/she momentarily abandons him/her appearance to acquire it again in the future, when he/she wishes, enriched by the experience he/she has had, but until then he/she exists in a form more suited to him/her new way of life, entirely new… literally!

“Interesting, but I still don’t understand… What is it enriched with and what does it mean that it has a new form?” He/She is enriched by experiences and emotions… but also by $WAC, of course, he/she will have to bring bananas to his/her Babies! But he/she will have to deserve it and demand a payment commensurate with what he/she can offer, i.e. he/she will have to get third parties to rent it. He/she has a new form because it is a new NFT. When the user rents his own Wape (GWAC or LWAC), he transfers it to a smart contract (whose code is public and accessible to anyone and can be read (and executed) here) and receives in return (mint) the corresponding rWAC. At any time, he can always return (burn) the rWAC to the smart contract and get the respective Wape back. The rWAC obtained in exchange for a leased Wape will have the same ID as this one in the case of GWAC, and the ID + 2500 in the case of LWAC.

“So an rWAC only exists when the respective Wape is owned by this smart contract and the supply of rWACs at a certain time will be equal to the number of Wapes held by that contract at that time” I see that you are understanding. Exactly. One exists when the other ‘does not exist’ and they cannot exist together…. Each dies and is born at the hands of the other….

And in fact, when all 6000 Babies are born, this new collection will disappear as it will no longer be needed!

“Wow, nice meme! What advantage does possession of the rWAC bring?” Many. The rWAC is itself an ERC721 and will have the same metadata (so same images and traits) as the relevant Wape so it is somewhat eqivalent, making the procedure more trustless, as well as being an externally-able proof of ownership of the original. This will allow you to list a Wape on secondary markets while it is leased! Only the person who holds the rWAC will be able to burn it to get the relevant Wape in return, and the rent money will go to the person who holds it at the time of the breed!
